Skålité International Awards
Established 28 years ago by Skål International Istanbul, the
Skålité Awards
recognise excellence, innovation, leadership, and outstanding achievements that make a meaningful and lasting impact on the global tourism industry.
The Skålité International Awards recognize and celebrate outstanding achievements across the global tourism industry. The Awards honour individuals, organizations, and initiatives that demonstrate excellence, innovation, leadership, and meaningful contributions to the advancement of tourism.
Founded by Skål International World President 2010 Hülya Aslantaş, the Skålité Awards were conceived as a unique recognition programme celebrating quality and excellence in tourism. Launched by Skål International Istanbul, the Awards became a benchmark for acknowledging outstanding contributions to the industry. In 2026, under the leadership of World President Andrés Hayes, the programme expanded beyond its original borders to become the Skålité International Awards, bringing its vision of excellence and quality in tourism to the global stage.
Under the theme "Quality in Tourism," the Skålité International Awards provide an international platform to recognize those shaping the future of tourism through outstanding performance, innovation, sustainability, and professional excellence.
The Awards also embody the values of Skål International by fostering friendship, collaboration, and the exchange of best practices among tourism professionals worldwide.

The Skålité International Awards are open to eligible individuals, organizations, businesses, institutions, and tourism initiatives that meet the requirements established for each category in the guidelines.
Nominations are submitted by Skål International members, but nominees are not required to be members of or affiliated with Skål International:
Each nomination must be submitted through the official form under the most relevant award category and include supporting information and evidence demonstrating the nominee's achievements, contributions, and merits. Supporting documentation may be requested to assist the evaluation process.
All nominations are evaluated using four key criteria:
-
Outstanding Achievement – What has the nominee accomplished?
-
Excellence & Innovation – What makes the achievement outstanding or innovative?
-
Positive Impact – What difference has it made to tourism, the organization, the community, or the industry?
-
Inspirational value for the Tourism Industry – How can achievement inspire others?
The key question for every nomination is: “Why does this achievement deserve to be recognized by the global Skål community?”.
The seven Skålité International Award categories have been carefully designed to recognize outstanding achievements across global tourism.
Each category celebrates excellence, innovation, leadership, and meaningful contributions to the future of tourism, highlighting achievements that create positive impact, inspire best practices, and advance the development of a more dynamic, responsible, and successful tourism sector.
